Congratulations to the Charleston Horticultural Society, CHS, for their nomination of Non-Profit of the Year by the Giving Back Awards. Presented each year by Charleston Magazine and the Coastal Community Foundation as a way of recognizing and celebrating philanthropy in the Lowcountry, the first round of nominations will be narrowed down from 50 to 25 this week. Round two will take place July 29 – August 4 and the final round will be held August 5 – 11. Non-profits succeed to each round according to the number of votes they recieve on the Charleston Magazine website.Each of the five finalists will be profiled in the November 2013 issue of Charleston Magazine and presented at the Giving Back Awards celebration in November, when a live text vote will determine the winner of this category.
